korean slim fittingThe fashion industry and trends are always looking for something new, fresh and exciting to embrace. In recent few years, we have seen Eastern trends making a big splash in U.S. men’s clothes shops. Avant-garde, slim fitting, unbalanced designs, big hoods are just some of the fashions from Korea and Japan currently sweeping the fashion scenes in NYS and LA.

Think only about famous Asian fashion designers and brands: Issey Miyake, Kenzo, Yohji Yamamoto. It’s clear that the eight decade of the previous century was the beginning of the Asian designers invasion of the global fashion world. Since the 1980’s brands and designers mentioned above were wildly and widely popular. During the 1990’s U.S. fashionistas shifted their eyes back toward American designers like Micheal Kors or Marc Jacobs, but Asian designers, and Asia influenced fashion trends are on the rise again.

But, don’t be frightened by these influences. Even the famous Asian designers from Korea and Japan don’t want their creations to be seen as “only” Korean or Japanese. They don’t want to express Asian culture, they want to create something between or beyond cultures. They are creators not only influenced by Asian culture, but driven by their urge to be innovative and creative. Also, keep in mind that today’s Asian designers are also influenced by European and U.S. fashion market. Globalization cannot be avoided and in fashion industry we can be happy to have so much diversities, so nowadays everyone can choose something perfect for themselves.
