Being a woman is never easy. A woman is always expected to be on top of things and at her best whichever role she’s taken at that particular moment – employer, mother, or partner. But it seems that the biggest problem for a woman comes when she needs to decide and choose what to wear. And if you ask her, she never has anything to put on, but then again her wardrobe is filled with different kinds of clothing and accessories.
So, what is the problem, then?
While we disagree with the fact that a woman has ‘nothing to wear’, on the other hand we do agree that it’s sometimes a difficult task to choose the right outfit for a certain occasion and how to combine different pieces of clothes with the right shoes, bags and accessories. For you see, nowadays there are so many to choose from that it’s not uncommon to get a little bit lost in all this and you can get a bit uncertain of what is appropriate to wear for a particular occasion. What makes a choice even harder is that we always keep in mind that what we wear makes us who we are, and makes an impression, and usually it’s very important to make a good first impression.
Match the clothes with the place
While most depends on your preferences, there are still some useful tips which can help you choose and combine better, like knowing what type of event you are going to. This way, you can avoid an unpleasant situation of wearing, for example jeans and a T-shirt while the dress code says differently. Next, it’s good to know the time of day of the event you’re attending and whether it’s being organized outside or indoors and, in accordance to this, choose the right outfit.

Formal dress codes
Now let’s talk about the dress code. Every event requires one and it’s very important for the attendant to respect it and show up appropriately dressed. For example, if you’ve been invited to a cocktail party, you have so many different types of dresses to choose from. You won’t go wrong if you, for instance, combine a skirt or tailored pants with some special details, or stick with traditional cocktail-party clothing style and put on an elegant dress or dressy pantsuits. Of course, don’t neglect the power of shoes and give yourself enough time to find the appropriate pair for this kind of occasion.
Don’t overdo it
If a dinner party is coming up, there are many ways to pull out the best outfit for this occasion. Too much or too many is the most common problem, so ask the hosts what they have in mind. With a little black dress and a good pair of high heels you can never go wrong. Still, make sure you’re informed well, so that, if requested you can change it for skirt and blouse, for example. The same goes for a company party and it’s preferable to be familiar with what is expected from guests no matter how relaxed your office environment or the occasion is. Opting for trousers with a refined sweater or a blouse and a blazer and putting on evening-appropriate shoes should be a safe bet.
Also, if you’re going to the theater or ballet, opera or a similar kind of occasion, dressing up is completely appropriate. If you don’t know what this means exactly, follow the rule of the black-tie dress code, or cocktail attire and you won’t be wrong. In the end you did pay a fair amount for a nice evening out, and it’s just fair to combine it with your best clothes.
