If you are soon to get married, you are probably among those girls that have already chosen their wedding dresses. Of course, it’s the most important part of your wedding day outfit, so it’s completely normal to be on top of your “to do” list. But, once you have that perfect wedding dress, don’t forget about another important piece of the “wedding outfit” puzzle – the wedding jewellery. To help you make the best possible choice, here are three tips on picking the perfect jewellery pieces for your big day!
Metals should match your dress. Gold looks better with ivory wedding gown, whereas a pure white fabric is best paired with platinum or silver. On the other hand, a diamond-white dress will look incredibly with any metal. Your jewelry should tell more about you as a person, but it should also highlight the beauty of your wedding dress. Don’t forget the embellishment and bead-work of the gown too; it dictates the colors of the wedding jewellery, as well as other wedding accessories. For instance, if your wedding dress has rose gold beading, make sure your earrings, bracelets or a necklace have a rose gold base.
For a wedding day jewelry, less is simply more. Although accessories do add a personalized touch to your overall wedding look, don’t go over the top with it. Before you start looking for the perfect jewellery pieces that will match your wedding dress, make sure you’re aware of all the important features of your gown; your picks should be based around these features by all means. If your dress is already embellished with many details, you probably don’t need a necklace but a nice matching earrings. If, however, the style of your gown is simpler, opt for a bold gemstone handmade jewellery and/or a fascinator.
Be yourself. It’s a special day, I know, but it’s better not to stray too far from what you’d call your regular style. If, for instance, you often wear a lot of jewellery pieces, don’t hesitate to do it on your big day too (and forget about my second tip!). But, don’t opt for diamonds if you almost never wear them. It’s crucial to look lovely on your big day, but not like someone else.
