Kerry Darlington was born and raised in Rhyl, coastal town in North Wales and her love of art stemmed originally from titles she have found in the bookcase of her family: The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, The Magic Faraway Tree etc. She’s still living somewhat further, in Prestatyn, although she has several globe-trotting experiences. Captivated and inspired by the magical fairy tale picture books in that childhood bookcase, she grew up to illustrate children’s books.
Her style is influenced by the classic picture books, Art Nouveau and Pre-Raphaelite artists, their signature works influenced and shaped her own art philosophy. Kerry Darlington has become successful professional artist and universally well-received at the Fine Art Trade Guild ceremony.
Kerry Darlington’s education was very much in the field of ink and pen work, even though her work is nowadays symbiotic of acrylic, oil and watercolors. For this reason, Kerry Darlington’s drawing skills were developed long before her future work evolved to apply watercolors, as well as other mixed media. For this reason, her acrylic works pieces are very structured.
The book illustrations of Kerry Darlington have been released as the unique edition prints. Midnight Garden print was sold out in less than a month. Each of Kerry’s unique edition prints has a tendency to retain unique, although it might sound contradictory.
